How We Work
The Lester Fund is committed to working with like-minded funders and stakeholders to tackle the complex problems of youth unemployment and under-employment in Sub Saharan Africa.
As a small funder, we work to maximize the effectiveness of our contribution by:
- funding a limited number of programs with strong employment outcomes and model elements or best practices that can be replicated elsewhere;
- funding programs to build the field so as to rapidly disseminate information about what works, improve quality, outcomes and scale, and build strong relationships among employers, governments, schools and other stakeholders;
- searching out collaborations with like-minded funders and stakeholders to share a knowledge base, develop a common framework for action, and coordinate strategies to avoid fragmented and isolated efforts, duplication and wasted resources.
